The new shop in town features something everyone will love: from gadgets that make gourmet cooking a snap, to all the essential cookware, ingredients,and cutlery kitchen neccesities. The shop was opened July 15, 2006 and makes a great addition to the historical square of La Grange. Le Petite Gourmet Shoppe of La Grange, Texas is owned and opperated by Donella Dopslauf-Cernosek, a gourmet chef herself. She had a popular shop in the early 1980s, prior to opening D&D Ace Hardware with her father.
Helping them open their hardware store, Joel McLendon has now helped her to open her newest project. McLendon has helped establish and shape over 580 stores nationwide, and his trusted expertise is sought after across the United States. So it's no wonder Donella would turn to him once more to help with Le Petite.
     Not only is Le Petite a great place to shop for aspiring cooks,
but it's also a great place to find gifts for the person you know enjoys cooking--with their great selections of products, and their awesome giftwrapping services. They can also put together some fabulous gift baskets with all sorts of goodies! After graduating from High School, Donella went on to pursue degrees from Blinn College, Sam Houston College, and Texas A & M University.  Her work experience includes many years as a county extension agent in Gonzales, Victoria, and Colorado counties, plus her
first Gourmet shoppe in 1981, along with her work at D&D Ace Hardware. She married Frank (Jack) Cernosek and helped manage her husband's businesses, The Post Oak Inn Club and the Mullins Prairie Store and Resturaunt. Throughout her career she has remained active and very interested in the culinary world.
    The litte shop is in one of the historical buildings on Colorado Street, recently renovated by National Bank & Trust. It's full of all kinds of goodies including: quality cookware, cutlery, tea, spices, coffees, health products, foods, and other gadgets. The shop is also happy to serve as a registry for weddings, birthdays, showers, anniversaries, and other special occasions.
